Socio-economic
Our socio-economic role
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is defined by the European Commission as the responsibility of companies for the effects they have on society.
From the outset of the Cabane Verte adventure, the founders were determined to play an active role in local socio-economic development. In concrete terms, the project itself has this vocation: the transformation of a municipal campsite (in bankruptcy) into a residential leisure park (PRL) enabling residents, owners of their chalets, to be welcomed 12 months a year, whether on holiday or on a working visit (seminars, training courses, sports clubs, etc.).
Our social role
The creation of this vacation village has given work to many local craftsmen (carpenters, plumbers, electricians, IT specialists, laundry services, etc.). Shopkeepers (bakers, grocers, etc.), tourist operators offering activities, restaurants, etc. and all the local producers (at the markets in particular) benefit from the presence of the 150 or so residents of the estate.
Also, the creation of the Domaine de la Cabane Verte, because it is open all year round, has led to the creation of a dozen permanent jobs and the recruitment of seasonal workers, including many students: see the team and the positions available. A permanent, supportive team means a higher level of competence, thanks to experience and training. For example, all team members are trained in first aid and fire protection, and each member has the opportunity to improve in his or her own field.
Our economic role
Finally, the Domaine is a key player in the development of green, quality tourism around Lac des Settons, in the Morvan and in Burgundy. It has been recognized as a “tourism ambassador for the Nièvre”, and is registered with the Tourist Offices of the Morvan Regional Nature Park, Nièvre Tourisme and Bourgogne Franche-Comté Tourisme et Tourisme d’Affaires. The Routard guide describes it as a “chic to very chic” establishment, in recognition of the quality of its services. And in this, the estate’s team strives to be the most exemplary in all its trades: hotels, catering and activity providers.
Our role is also to offer a place where everyone can recharge their batteries: family, solo, friends, executives and managers. In our hectic society, it’s vital to (re)recharge our batteries in nature. Attentiveness, benevolence and attentiveness are our values and attitudes. Because our profession and our “socio-economic” role is first and foremost that of welcoming people.
